WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade items their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item level upgrade, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
